How do I get rid of birds nesting under my solar panels?
The gap between your panels and the roof is a sheltered, shaded nesting spot, so pigeons keep coming back until it is physically closed off. We clear the birds out, remove the nests, eggs, droppings and debris, clean the area, and then install galvanized steel bird mesh around the perimeter of the array. Removal alone is temporary — removal plus proofing is what actually solves it.
Do you remove the birds and nests, or only install the guard?
Both, and always in that order. Every pigeon guard job starts with full bird and nest removal plus cleanup of droppings and nesting material from under the panels. Installing mesh over an active nest would only trap the mess underneath, so we never do it.
